NORRIS HIGH SCHOOL DAILY BULLETIN - October 5, 2023

   

TODAY’S ACTIVITIES:

EMC Cross Country Meet @ Blair - 4:00

Seniors:   Please check your email for a google form to order your cap and gown.  If you already submitted your order through Josten's website, you won’t need to fill out this form.

 

Swim Team:   If you would like to be a part of the swim team this upcoming winter, please sign up in the high school office by October 11.   There will be an informational sometime during the last week of October.  Please watch the bulletin for that information.   First practice will be November 13.   All practices are at the YMCA in Beatrice.

 

Girls SoccerIf you are not part of the Norris Girls Soccer Team Group, and are thinking about playing soccer next spring, please contact Coach Talero to sign up for the Norris Girls Soccer Google Classroom.

The Norris Trap Team will be holding a new member meeting on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 6:30 PM in the High School Multi-Purpose Room. Any students in grades 6 through 12 that are interested in joining the Trap Team are welcome to attend. Please bring your Chromebook or a device that can access the internet. Those who are already on the Trap Team do not need to attend this meeting.

 

Wrestling:  If you are interested in coming out for Wrestling this year email Coach Duran at brian.duran@nsdtitans for more information.  We will be having a meeting in the coming weeks.  This is for both boys and girls.

 

ACCUPLACER TEST

Seniors planning to attend SCC or another community college next year--consider taking the Accuplacer at Norris.

 

When:November 29th @ 9:30am

Permission form: Print & return this permission form if you are not yet 18

What you need: Bring your Chromebook fully charged on test day

 

Note:  SCC does take ACT scores. If your ACT subject scores weren’t high enough for required placement, you’ll need to take the Accuplacer-SCC’s placement test also.

 

COMMUNITY SERVICE REQUIREMENT

Norris High School students are required to complete 10 total hours of community service for graduation. To submit all 10 completed hours, students take a picture of the completed community service form(s) and upload this into the assignment called "COMMUNITY SERVICE." Once the student has uploaded forms totaling 10 hours and submitted the assignment successfully in Google Classroom, their counselor will give the student 10 points to show it has been completed, and they will be able to see this 10 point grade in Google Classroom.  More information is posted in each Counseling Google Classroom Class of 202#. Students can see their counselor with any questions.

 

Community Service Opportunity:

The Norris Craft Fair is on Saturday, October 7 from 9 am - 3 pm at the high school. The PTO is looking for high school students who could assist the PTO by helping vendors move their items in and out that day.  Shifts are:  6:00-9:00 a.m. and 3:00-5:00 p.m.  If interested, contact  Steph atnorriscraftfair@gmail.com
